My paintings are an expression of the landscape; the movement among branches, light filtering through, the sound of wind in the leaves.
Rather than depicting specific scenes, these abstract works aim to evoke a feeling or sense of place, inviting viewers to find their own meaning within them.
My Process
I often begin painting by quickly applying thin washes of colour and drawing back into the work with pastel and other media. I work intuitively, building and removing layers to reveal other colours beneath, attempting to capture the feeling of being in a place rather than a specific image
