About Narelle

My work is a reflection of the landscapes I have lived in and the deep connection I feel to the natural world. After years of traveling the globe and drawing inspiration from diverse environments, I now find myself immersed in the rugged beauty of the Australian landscape, where I grew up. The sunburnt earth, vast open spaces, and ever-changing light profoundly influence my current practice.

Returning to Australia in 2021 has rekindled my relationship with the land. I find particular inspiration in the feeling of being surrounded by and immersed in the trees and foliage, where the rustling leaves, shifting light, and rich textures of the bush evoke a profound sense of calm and connection. Each piece I create is a response to these intimate experiences with nature—the colours, textures, and rhythms of this unique environment.

From the vivid hues of the outback to the quiet serenity of the forests, I aim to capture the essence of these places in my work. Through vibrant color and textured layers, I explore nature’s contrasts and moods, evoking the feeling of being deeply present in these landscapes.
